mouth-watering!!**slurp..slurp**am not so familiar with Vietnamese cuisine though..how is it different from other Asian cuisines? are Vietnamese fond of spicy food too?

Where were you when you tried these dish? Did you dine in a small tavern along the street? How you described the dish, I get the impression that you were in a restaurant..those fine-dining type restos..

The meat must be so good..and juicy..yummy!!

Duy - Good call! My aunt Phuong makes amazing shrimp toasts: http://gastronomyblog.com/2007/07/29/banh-mi-tom-chien/

Tia - I am most certain you can whip up an equally scrumptious bowl with your mad cooking skillz.

John - Yep! And a damn fine use of stale bread ;-)
http://gastronomyblog.com/2008/03/24/banh-chu%e1%bb%91i-h%e1%ba%a5p/

Trinh - I'll admit it, I am spoiled over here. Holla!

Foodhoe - head to San Jose for amazing Vietnamese food. My aunt in Los Gatos took me out for some broken rice (com tam) a few years back and it was GOOD.
