I’m going to the Philippines in a month and I will surely dine at this restaurant…Sounds really good to me Glad to have read this blog about Philippine cuisine right before I leave…I will definitely try the Okra with Salted Eggs, Sinigang and those Portuguese Egg Tarts…Can’t wait

Nina - Found you a recipe for Maya Maya Escabeche. Looks promising. Duy - Well, it's hard to say. In the Philippines, we mainly ate at nice, full-service restaurants so compared to Vietnam, I'd say the prices are comparable. While the street food in Vietnam costs pennies, the full-service restaurants aren't nearly as cheap. Foodhoe - I betcha the Bay has some Pinoy cuisine somewhere! Maybe in San Jose? Or better yet, make a Filipino friend. And the stew was pretty darn good - the corned beef really makes it.

Gastronomer, sounds like an interesting meal! I haven’t eaten much filippine cuisine and definitely haven’t had much corned beef, but that stew sounds delicious…

Hi Gastronomy .
What do you say about the price of the food in Phillipine ? Is it cheaper or more expensive than in Vietnam ? Since 1 PHP ~ 372.91 VND, the average price of some of the dishes you ate is around 55,000 VND . I think it is more expensive than in Vietnam. Am I right ?
