Blair’s Restaurant – Los Angeles (Eagle Rock)

Posto Giusto - Los Angeles (Eagle Rock)

It would be premature to declare my love for Blair’s Restaurant. After all, the restaurant only opened earlier this summer, and I’ve dined there just once. Perhaps smitten would be more appropriate? I hereby declare myself properly smitten.

Open every day for dinner starting at 5:30 PM, Posto Giusto is a fast-casual newcomer to Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock. The Astronomer and I dined here to load up on all manner of Italian carbohydrates on a recent night out.

Upon placing our order at the counter (two starters and three pastas), we grabbed some plates, silverware, and water, and settled in at an empty table by the window.

All five dishes came out fast. Really fast. To be honest, The Astronomer and I were taken aback by the speed at which the food arrived. Next time around, we’ll stagger our order to ensure that we’re not served everything all at once.

The “Bruschetta Chicken Liver” ($8) wasn’t the prettiest to behold with its runny texture and grayish hue, but it delivered on all flavor fronts. I’ve yet to encounter a chicken liver pate that I didn’t adore.

We also shared a plate of snappy “Roasted Broccoli” ($9), brushed with olive oil and dotted with garlic.

The Astronomer and I agreed that the “Gnocchetti with Pork Sausage” ($13) was our favorite pasta of the three. In addition to plenty of sausage, the teeny and toothsome ridged pastas were treated to breadcrumbs, crumbly cheese, and a smattering of greens.

The “Torchietto with Corn and Cheese” ($14), which was described as “kind of like macaroni and cheese” by the woman taking our order, was the mildest of the bunch. The sauce, more creamy than cheesy, coated each noodle along with breadcrumbs, crushed red pepper, and fresh corn.

The “Tonnarelli with Pomodoro” ($12) finished a close second to the gnocchetti. The noodles were awesomely al dente, while the sauce was bright as can be.

June scarfed down our leftovers the next day—smart girl.

Dinner at Posto Giusto was poorly paced, but so genuinely delicious that we didn’t mind too much. I’m pretty sure feelings will progress from smitten to love in short order because: pasta.
