GIVEAWAY: “Cook Like a Rock Star” Debut Cookbook by Anne Burrell

GIVEAWAY: Cook Like A Rock Star

For Anne Burrell, a classically trained chef and host of Food Network’s Secrets of a Restaurant Chef (where she shares impressive recipes and smart techniques that anyone can master), and Worst Cooks in America (the show that transforms hopeless home cooks), being a rock star in the kitchen means having the confidence and ability to get a great meal on the table without a sweat. In her debut cookbook, she presents 125 rustic yet elegant recipes, all based on accessible ingredients, along with encouraging notes and handy professional tricks that will help you cook more efficiently at home.

Organized from “Piccolini and Firsts” to “Pasta, Seconds, Sides,” and, of course, “Dessert” Cook Like a Rock Star is all about empowering you with the confidence to own what you do in your kitchen, to be excited by what you’re making, and to experience the same kind of joy that Anne feels everyday when she cooks and eats.

  1. My favorite show on Food Network would have to be Good Eats. I like the science, the food, and Alton Brown!

  2. My favorite Food Network show is Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I absolutely Love Guy Fieri and I enjoy being an arm-chair traveler as he traverses the country introducing us to the best diners, drive-ins and dives this country has to offer.

  3. I would have to say Triple D as well although Top Chef: Just Desserts is a close second.
    Guy Fieri is bomb.

  4. Oh, and I do like Bobby Flay’s grilling shows and brunch show. 🙂 … and chopped, and ICA & Guy’s afternoon show … most of my tv time is FNW.

  5. I love pretty much everything on food network…but I have a soft spot in my heart for Barefoot Contessa, since it’s the show that taught me to make my first real meal from scratch. 🙂

  6. Now that good eats is all but done, secrets of a restaurant chef is definitely tops. also, shame to the contessa lovers…don’t support ina, she snubs make-a-wish kids!

  7. My favorite FoodNetwork show is Iron Chef, Secrets of a restaurant chef is good too 🙂

  8. I love two shows Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, and Secret of a restaurant chef. Anne is a very smart, creative snd entertaining cook. Cooking recipes from her book would be awesome.

  9. My favorite shows are Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, Good Eats and Iron Chef America.

  10. My favourite show on The Food Network (Canada) is “French Food at Home”. It was the first show that showed me how easy some dishes actually are to make and encouraged me to start cooking.

  11. My favorite show on Food Network is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and Alex’s Day Off.

  12. Love so many shows…Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, Giada de Laurentis, Barefoot Conteesa, big Bite, Triple D, Iron Chef, Chopped, Tyler’s Ultimate & Good Eats!

  13. It’s a three-way tie between Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, Best Thing I Ever Ate and The Pioneer Woman.

  14. Favorite show is definitely Chopped. I can’t get enough of it. I catch ‘Secrets of a Restaurant Chef’ when I can too.

  15. My 15-year-old daughter is in her 2nd year of our high school culinary academy so we watch Food Network daily. I’d have to say Chopped is a family favorite. Can you believe Chef Anne competed all the way to the dessert round after getting hot oil in her eye?! She’s an incredible chef!

  16. My favorite show on Food Network has always been Good Eats, too bad it’s being retired.

  17. I am an Iron Chef fan. I love watching the Japanese one and enjoy a lot the US version. Thanks for the giveaway!

  18. Love Good Eats! I’m so sad it’s over. Best Thing I Ever Ate is my favorite non-cooking show.

  19. My favorite show is The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Hearing all those knowledgeable people beautifully describe food that they’re passionate about is so engrossing. Plus, it definitely helps build up an appetite!

  20. My hands down favorite show has to be CHOPPED. I’ve been watching the show for what seems like years and it has inspired me to actually pick up ingredients and transform them into something new.

  21. Iron Chef America! I love to see how the chefs can create such beautiful dishes under such pressure.

  22. I cant wait for the new season of the next iron chef. Its going to be amazing watching the super chefs battle it out.

  23. My favorite show is “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef!” Amne Burrell rocks! I cant wait to watch her on The Next Iron Chef. Best of luck, Anne. You already are my iron chef!

  24. I love Chopped! The competition is so fun to watch; I love to see what the Mystery Box will contain next!

  25. My favorite show on the Food Network is Barefoot Contessa, with Secrets of a Restaurant Chef coming in as a close second.

  26. Good Eats is my favorite show. I like learning how food works and not just another simple recipe.

  27. As far as entertainment show: diners, drive-in and dives

    For Cooking: Barefoot Contessa

anne Burrell cracks me up. She’s always SO hyper!

  28. Lately my favorite has been diners, drive ins and dives. But if I could I would try to catch episodes of Pioneer Woman when I remember when it is coming on.

  29. My favorite show is Diners, drive ins and dives. It appeals to the traveler and chef in me. I am a total addict, and have recreated many of the recipes.

  30. I love watching, of course ,my favorite Secrets of a Restaurant Chef! I watch Food Network most of the time I have my TV on. I can’t wait to follow you on The Next Iron Chef! You can win that one, I know!!

  31. I like the Worst Cooks in America! That is my favorite show ALL year!!! Team Chef Anne!

  32. Not even lying my favorite show on FN is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef! I love that Anne doesn’t dumb down the recipes and I actually learn new things about cooking and techniques. Plus I think we’d be best friends in real life.

  33. Secrets is the best instructional show on food network. Ann’s enthusiasm is contagious.

  34. My fav show was next fn star but wasn’t crazy about this season. I do have a ton of Annes shows recorded on dvr. Oh and dessert first is a good one too.

  35. My favorite show on Food Network is The Pioneer Woman and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and DDD!!! Anne rocks and has given me the will to keep trying in the kitchen…”Brown Food Tastes Good”!!! 🙂

  36. My favorite show is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, followed by Serious Eats. My mother taught me never to say anything rude about anyone, so I won’t mention Guy “I’ve autographed my own fridge” Fieri.

  37. I love many of Food Network’s shows, but I really, truly love Iron Chef America the best. And I’m so excited about Next Iron Chef Champions.

  38. The shows I love the most are the Original Iron Chef Japan and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef

  39. BTW, I’m following you on Twitter anf Facebook. Left comments on both “public domains”, lol.

  40. Definitely like Secrets of a Restaurant Chef best (for realz, not kissing up to win the book). Also like Chopped and Iron Chef America. Especially like the old repeats of ICA where Chef Anne is Mario Batolli’s sous chef!

  41. My favorite show on Food Network would have to be Throwdown With Bobby Flay or Barefoot Contessa. So excited for Anne’s new book!

  42. My favorite show on the Food Network right now has got to be Crave. It’s brilliant.

  43. My favorite food network show has to be Good Eats… I was a terrible science student when I hit college, but the amount of scientific information I’ve learned from being a fan of this show is awesome. AB makes it all so easy to understand! Also love Dinner/Restaurant Impossible, Worst Cooks in America, and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef.

  44. Would Fav be a tie? anyway for a regular on it would be Chopped followed by Iron Chef America tied with Diners,Driveins&Dives. Of course for temp on is Worst Cooks In America

  45. I have so many favs …… Well Clearly I wanna be in the kitchen on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef … Anne just looks like she’s having soooooo much fun … I see why she was called the secret weapon of Mario’s early on on ICA.

Other shows I could watch all day long (and sometimes do)>>>

    Barefoot Contessa – Elegance Understated
Triple D – Just wanna hang out everywhere he goes
Good Eats – Funny and informative
Paula’s Home Cooking – I love butter as much as her
Unwrapped – Deconstruction at its best
Down Home with the Neely’s – I want to know when I’m gonna get an invite to come over.
Chopped – When they get an amateur version, IM DOWN!!
    Iron Chef America – DUH

  46. I suppose I would have to pick Secrets of a Restaurant Chef or one of the Giada shows.

Honestly though I do not think the Food Network currently has a show the quality of Avec Eric or as informational as America’s Test Kitchen.

  47. My Favorite show on foodnetwork is Resteraunt Impossible. Robert irvine is a nice guy who helps people with their resteraunts. He is a good guy with a kind heart 🙂
