I am really, really late to the Compost Cookie party. Milk Bar introduced it nearly a decade ago, and while I was totally aware of the food world’s obsession, the everything-but-the-kitchen sink treat didn’t make much of an impression on me. Back then, I was more of a Confetti Cookie gal.
After years of not giving a hoot, I finally tried a Compost Cookie last week—and swoon.
Packed with pretzels, potato chips, coffee grounds, oats, graham cracker, and butterscotch and chocolate chips, the cookie hit a more sweet than salty note, all within a pleasantly moist and crisped-edge package. Coffee grounds for the win!
I fell so hard for the damn thing that I immediately purchased half a dozen more online. Now that I’ve been properly indoctrinated, I have another reason to be excited for Milk Bar’s opening in Los Angeles next year…
I love their cornflake cookie!!
Really want to make it myself at home but I can’t seem to find freeze dried corn anywhere. =(
